Let’s talk essential oils
I’ve been using essential oils in some capacity for over five years. I first used them when I was still a Montessori teacher in my classroom to help the kids with their concentration and focus. I had noticed that around Spring, the kids started to get antsy and would lose a little bit of focus, so I started diffusing essential oils in the classroom, and the kids loved them!
Fast forward to today, where I literally have fallen in LOVE with using essential oils for essentially everything. I use oils for cleaning, I diffuse them, make and use roller blends and create all natural DIY products that my family and I can safely use!

How to make the B.O. Be Gone Natural Deodorant
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/3 cup of solid coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp wax (beeswax, soy or emulsifying)
- 15 drops of B. O. Be Gone Essential Oil Blend
- 15 drops of Love Essential Oil Blend (or your desired essential oil)
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 Tbsp zinc oxide
SUPPLIES:
- deodorant container
- measuring cup
- 2 pots
- wooden spoon
DIRECTIONS:
- In a double boiler ( 2 pots) melt the coconut oil and wax. The recipe calls for using beeswax, but I personally know and love the benefits of soy wax on your skin as a natural moisturizer, so I opted to use soy wax.
- Remove from heat and add in the essential oils. I also decided to add a bit of scent to my deodorant by adding in some drops of Love Essential Oil Blend. You can add in whichever scent profile you’d like.
- Stir in the baking soda and cornstarch. This will cause the mixture to solidify quickly. If this happens, simply place it back on the heat to reliquify it.
- Pour the mixture into the deodorant container. Allow it to cool until it is room temperature.
Honestly, the deodorant was pretty easy to make. I really like the scent of the Love and B. O Be Gone essential oils mixed together. If you’ll be using the all natural deodorant, be sure to read through some of the tips about making the switch. As with anything, your body takes time to adjust to the switch and it’s good to be aware of these things when you start using the all natural deodorant.
