I don’t know about you Mama’s out there, but with running my blog, our family candle business, and managing our family life, I don’t get as much sleep as I want or need. Most days I’m up by six am or earlier, and honestly don’t lie down to go to sleep until well after eleven pm. That’s the norm for me, and my reality as a work from home mom, entrepreneur and wife! Any of this sound familiar?

Let’s face it…as busy Mom’s who are up early before everyone else in the house, and who stay up way past everyone in the house is fast asleep dreaming. When we can finally lie down to go to sleep, we need it be good!Ā  There’s nothing like an amazing night of sleep, but as busy Mama’s, we don’t get as much sleep as we’d like or deserve…

Luckily I’m here with these amazing essential oil recipes to help you get that much needed and deserved rest, relaxation, me time, plus the best sleep ever!

Mom approved essential oil recipes to get the best sleep ever

These essential oil recipes will surely help you rest easy and get a well deserved full night of sleep! You will need a few items to make these recipes; simple items that you may have around your house or that you can get easily and inexpensively.

  1. distilled water
  2. 2 small jars
  3. a small vase or jar with a narrow neck

 

Soothing Sleepy Balm

INGREDIENTS:

  • 15 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Sleepy Essential Oil Blend
  • 1 Tbsp beeswax
  • 1/4 cup of fractionated coconut oil

SUPPLIES:

  • small jar
  • 2 pots (to use as a double boiler)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In the double boiler, melt the beeswax and fractionated coconut oil together
  2. Remove the mixture from the heat
  3. Add the Sleepy and Copaiba essential oils and stir
  4. Pour the mixture into the small jar
  5. To use, scoop a small amount into your hand and use on your hands, cheeks, or chest before bedtime
  6. Breathe deeply to help support a great night’s sleep

 

Goodnight Moon Diffuser Blend

INGREDIENTS:

  • 15 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Sleepy Essential Oil Blend
  • 30 drops of Juniper Berry Essential Oil
  • 45 drops of Balsam Fir Essential Oil

SUPPLIES:

  • 5mL bottle

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add all of the essential oils to your 5mL bottle
  2. Swirl well to mix
  3. Add ten to fifteen drops of your Goodnight Moon Blend to your diffuser before bed

 

 

Moon & Back Roll-on

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil
  • 4 drops of Sleepy Essential Oil Blend
  • 10mL fractionated coconut oil

SUPPLIES:

  • 10mL roll on bottle

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add the essential oils to the 10mL roll on bottle
  2. Swirl well to mix
  3. Fill the rest of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil
  4. Replace cap and shake bottle.
  5. Apply to pulse points to help support calm and relaxation

Sleepy Pillow Spray

INGREDIENTS:

  • 36 drops of Simply Earth Natural Solubillizer
  • 12 drops of Sleepy Essential Oil Blend
  • 1/4 cup of distilled water
  • 10mL fractionated coconut oil

SUPPLIES:

  • 2oz. spray bottle
  • small bowl

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl, add the drops of essential oils
  2. Gradually add in the natural solubilizer, pausing to stir
  3. Add the water to the bowl
  4. Pour the mixture into the spray bottle
  5. To use, spray onto your pillow during your night time routine. Breathe in deep to support calmness

 

Lights Out Reed Diffuser

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 drop of Copaiba Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Balsam Fir Essential Oil
  • 3 drops of Juniper Berry Essential Oil
  • 30 drops of Simply Earth Natural Solubilizer
  • 6 diffuser reeds
  • water

SUPPLIES:

  • small vase or jar with a narrow neck
  • small bowl

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl, add all of the essential oils.
  2. Gradually add in the natural solubilizer, pausing to stir
  3. To determine how much water you’ll need, fill your vase/jar 3/4 of the way with water
  4. Pour the water into the bowl with the oils and natural solubilizer
  5. Pour the mixture into your vase
  6. Add the reeds to your vase
  7. Allow them to soak for a few hours, then flip them upside down to release the aroma

 

As a bonus, be sure to add this before bed cleansing water to your bedtime ritual!

DIY Micellar Water

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil
  • 3 drops of Sleepy Essential Oil Blend
  • 2 drops of Juniper Berry Essential Oil
  • 30 drops of Simply Earth Natural Solubilizer
  • 1 cup of distilled water
  • 1/2 tsp of vegetable glycerin

SUPPLIES:

  • small jar
  • small bowl

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl, add the essential oils.
  2. Gradually add small amounts of the natural solubilizer, pausing to stir
  3. Slowly add in the distilled water
  4. Stir well
  5. Next stir in the vegetable glycerin
  6. To use, apply a small amount of micellar water onto a cotton ball and gently wipe into the skin to cleanse

Additional essential oils good to use before bed for sleep and relaxation

Here are a few other essential oils that you can use to help you relax and sleep well!

 

Lavender

Used in aromatherapy, it can aid in relaxation and sleep.

Mandarin

Its scent can have a relaxing and calming effect.

 

Chamomile

Known for it’s calming properties.

 

Clary Sage

It’s sweet scent is calming and uplifting, perfect for soothing the mind and the body.

 

What to take from this

In the end, everyone is different and how your body will react to the essential oils and recipes listed will vary. The most important thing is to find which essential oils and recipes work best for you, and then use them to add some relaxation and comfort the your nightly bedtime routine!
