Mindfulness and meditation resources

These are some of my favorite mindfulness and meditation resources for children (and adults too!).

Expandable Balls

Expandable balls are great for teaching children deep, calming breaths. The plastic ball expands, and can be used to simulate breathing techniques.

Woodstock Chimes

Woodstock chimes are a great way to get children to relax and calm their feelings. These calming chimes can be used inside or outside, and can provide soft, subtle sounds for children.

Tibetian Singing Bowls

These provide soft, gentle sounds and can be used at the beginning or end of a meditation or mindfulness practice. Tibetian singing bowls let off peaceful and tranquil vibrations.

What to take from this

The most important things to takeaway from this is to recognize the importance of mindfulness and meditations play in the mental health and positive development of young children. Things in their everyday lives are not as they used to be, and for some children this can be very hard to grasp. Children are very resilient beings, but drastic changes could have lasting effects. Having them engage in mindfulness activities, practice meditating, and incorporating simple mind breaks into their daily routine could be all the difference in them developing into caring, kind, patient adults! These practices are worth it!

Have you given any of the above mindfulness and meditation apps a try? Are there any others that I may have left off the list that you think should be included? Let me know below in the comments!
